Preventative/Predictive Maintenance
Through all of my experiences, the one constant that pertains to
downtime is that the absolute minimum is acceptable and, for that
reason, I am committed to being as proactive as possible to reduce
these situations. ZSES offers scheduled running and downtime
maintenance services of vital production equipment. We also work
with maintenance and production personnel to create and implement
a plant-specific maintenance plan and guide and instruct them on
what to do and what to look for.
Predictive maintenance is another critical program that enables us
to find a problem before it becomes one. They are difficult to detect
without the use of special equipment and procedures. Infrared heat
detection cameras are used to find situations such as the
overheating of equipment, connections and conductors due to age,
poor contact, deteriorating conditions and improper installations.
Scheduled maintenance allows for inspection and detection of these
hazardous situations and, as a result, preemptive and swift action
to avoid catastrophic failures and long, unexpected downtime. ZSES
has made a strong commitment to our customers by obtaining the
neccessary equipment and training to provide such inspections.
Service
Whatever preventative maintenance program may be in effect, it is
idealistic to believe that no problems will arise unexpectedly. With
that said, it is very important to have a reactive plan in effect.
Service call response is swift and repair time is kept to a minimum
by virtue of applicable knowledge and reliable and available avenues
for parts and material.
Health and Safety
ZSES believes that any compromise in contractor and personnel
health and safety is not acceptable. From that belief, ZSES is proud
to say that the company has never experienced a lost-time injury
since our beginning. We also believe in leading by example. Our
goal is to provide the devices and integrated systems to our
customers so they have the ability to minimize or even negate any
potential hazards.
We understand Health and safety are two of the highest concerns
that exist in plant and commercial environments today. Air quality
and machine operating hazards have been an industry focus of ZSES
for several years. I have installed new gas detection systems in
large garages and arenas in the recent past and also interconnected
the system to control the air exchanging equipment to eliminate any
ill effects of such gases on personnel and patrons alike. Installation
of operator safety devices including foot and hand switches,
electrically-interlocked mechanical barriers (including the
manufacturing and installation of the barriers themselves), pressure
pads, light curtains, and warning/indicating devices to notify
operators and others as to machine operation and potential safety
hazards. ZSES has also created and installed equipment-specific
systems such as overhead crane anti-collision devices and overhead
door safety devices.
Controls
ZSES has been diligent in understanding and implementing controls
on different levels. First, we have a panel-building operation that
can accommodate from the very small size to large multiple-cabinet
systems, from small monitoring systems to complete machine
production controls. We also offer full field installation services for
all of our cabinets. Second, our projects have included installation of
programming variable frequency drives, relay logic control and
programmable logic control panels, and complete rewiring and
updating of existing panels and equipment.
ZSES has spent several years involved in the installations and
applications of PLCs. Equipment and processes that we've worked on
have included plant production monitoring, Human Machine Interface
(HMI) panels for ease of operator inputs and control of equipment,
as well as air exchange and building environmental controls.
Power Management
With the cost of energy today, an effective plant power
management system is invaluable. ZSES has invested time and
resources in the research of such devices and their applications. We
have successfully installed capacitor banks to improve overall plant
power factor values which, as a direct result, will reduce the cost of
power used. ZSES has also installed power metering modules that
monitor power consumption throughout the working day and off
hours to determine consumption patterns and wasteful use of
energy.
Customer Commitment
ZSES is constantly working on updating my knowledge of all aspects
of the trade including new technologies and products that will
improve customer safety, power consumption, and productivity as
well as minimize any downtime. We can also provide licensed and
certified welding and fabrication services. I am very confident that
